Time for action: C&T outdoor activities

Hong Kong, April 20, 2017 - Taking advantage of the good weather in autumn, C&T organized various outdoor activities, including organic farming with the elderly, charity marathon participation and annual hiking activity to let colleagues take a good weekend break outdoors and maintain good work-life balance.

With the popularity of green living in recent years, C&T joined the organic farming workshop organized by the Produce Green Foundation on 8 October 2016. About 20 colleagues from the Solutions team joined the activity and experienced a green morning with the elderly in the community garden in Tsuen Wan. The volunteers first introduced our colleagues to the principles of organic farming by taking them to a farm visit. After that they had the real farming experience through assisting in the weeding and planting of rosemary and lettuce. The elderly also invited them to come together to make dumplings with fresh vegetable and have a healthy treat of green life. The activity is not only about learning organic farming, but also a great chance for the Solutions teammates to meet and interact with each other.

C&T believes knowledge can create a better world, thus it is committed to supporting the well-being of children and their education through encouraging our colleagues to participate in different charitable activities to help those in need. On 23 October 2016, two of our colleagues took part in and completed the 42 km and 26 km race of “Sowers Action Challenge 12 Hours” respectively. They showed their happiness of being part of the effort to raise funds for supporting children in poverty with physical and metal care and access to education. They would also like to invite more colleagues to join this meaningful activity next year and run for the kids together.

C&T’s annual hiking activity on 10 December 2016 gathered around 30 colleagues and their family members to explore the stunning scenery and history of Devil’s Peak. On that sunny day, the team set off from Yau Tong MTR Station, climbed along Ko Chui Road, and walked pass trenches to reach the Devil’s Peak Fortress. Accompanying them were the spectacular view of Victoria Harbor and the beautiful coastline of Tseung Kwan O. After the trail walk, the team walked along Wilson Trial to Lei Yue Mun and finished the refreshing weekend hike with a delicious seafood lunch.

C&T understands the importance of work-life balance and hopes through organizing various outdoor activities to let colleagues challenge themselves, broaden their horizons and bring new ideas back into the workplace.
