Hong Kong, July 6, 2018 - To promote the concept of fair trade and provide an opportunity for colleagues to try fair-trade products, C&T organized a DIY Natural Scrub Workshop with Fair Trade Hong Kong (FTHK) at the Group’s Cyberport headquarters this afternoon, which attracted colleagues from various departments.

Founded in 2008 in Hong Kong, FTHK is committed to establishing a fair-trade economy to ensure producers in the developing world can receive fair share of income, thus to alleviate poverty, reduce inequality and contribute to a sustainable future. Having a mission to build a better world, C&T is committed to being part of this effort, to strike for a respectable livelihood for farmers and workers in developing countries.

During the workshop, the representative from FTHK introduced the idea of fair trade and the benefits that trade products provide. The colleagues also learned making their own scrub by using fair-trade products such as coffee grounds and coconut oil.

Besides promoting the concepts of just and sustainable consumption models towards our colleagues, C&T continuously contributes to charitable causes with dedicated involvement, such as sending fair-trade gifts to guests of business events and colleagues at the Group’s annual dinner, and establishing a staff pantry serving fair-trade coffee. Welcomed and supported by the employees, guests and customers, these moves are a solid foundation for C&T’s ongoing pursuit of promoting fair trade.
