Cyberport enhances e-procurement efficiency with C&T’s EPM solution
Hong Kong, August 9, 2017 - C&T’s team of EPM software professionals deployed a software-as-a-service (SaaS) system that can cater for Cyberport’s entire procurement process.
A need for e-procurement, for sustained growth
Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, which is wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government, adopts prudent commercial principles. To ensure that the operation can fulfil its public mission and optimize its services to the growing Cyberport community, in 2015 Cyberport initiated the implementation of a comprehensive e-procurement system that could provide a shared central portal for users to efficiently manage the whole procurement process, from vender registration through tender assessment to tender awarding and reporting, thereby enabling active participation of potential and existing Cyberport vendors. In addition to high performance metrics, Cyberport also demanded the strictest standard of data security for the e-portal. Cyberport looked for a service provider with proven experience and capability to fulfil these prerequisites and take charge of the whole project from design and supply to installation, implementation and maintenance. Computer and Technologies Holdings Limited (C&T) was their chosen partner.
The choice with proven experience and capability
C&T has been in the IT industry for over 25 years, delivering quality IT solutions and services including solution design and implementation, security and privacy services, etc. C&T is the pioneer in Hong Kong to provide enterprise procurement management (EPM) software solutions in transforming the procurement process from manual and paper-based procedures into an automated and auditable workflow, helping many sizeable organizations and corporations improve their management of complicated procurement processes especially in multiple business operations.
Tailor-made solution of strict compliance
With pioneering expertise in Hong Kong, C&T’s team of EPM software professionals deployed a software-as-a-service (SaaS) system that can cater for Cyberport’s entire procurement process, from vendor registration, request-for-quotation (RFQ) procedure, tender procedure and variation order procedure to security audit and reporting. Tailored data security measures were provided for the system to guarantee compliance with the Cyberport Information Security Policy and the IT Security Guidelines and Regulations. This all-in-one automated portal not only helped to reduce repetitive tasks and paper consumption, but also induced the best procurement results from raised transparency in supplier management and tender competition.
Procurement is an important part in the operation of an infrastructure of such size to maintain and enhance facilities and services. The Cyberport project enabled C&T to leverage its skills in developing solutions to facilitate large enterprises’ procurement processes in their large-scale operations. This solution covers a complete procurement workflow with comprehensive functions and provides the answer to sustainable procurement management with prudent commercial principles in mind.
