Hong Kong, September 25, 2019 - C&T’s subsidiary Global e-Trading Services Limited (Ge-TS) launched the electronic Certificate of Origin (CO) service, allowing customers to submit electronic applications to Government departments and enabling traders to export goods to foreign markets more efficiently.

CO is an export document to certify the country of manufacture of a shipment and usually required by customs and banks. COs are issued to facilitate traders to export goods to foreign markets in order to meet the requirements of overseas importing authorities or enjoy preferential tariff treatment under free trade agreements (FTAs) signed between Hong Kong and other economies. Ge-TS provides convenient electronic CO application services for customers to apply electronically for different types of CO to Trade and Industry Department or one of the five GACOs, namely the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong.

CO Application from Non-Registered Trader with Registered Partner

Ge-TS offers application services for the following types of CO:

• Certificate of Hong Kong Origin
• Certificate of Origin-Processing
• Certificate of Hong Kong Origin – Form AHK
• Certificate of Hong Kong Origin – New Zealand
• Certificate of Hong Kong Origin – Georgia
• Certificate of Hong Kong Origin – CEPA

Ge-TS’s CO service also comes with the interoperability that allows non-registered traders or manufacturers to submit CO application to the Government with their trading partners registered at Ge-TS. Together with the CO service, Ge-TS provides one-stop trading e-services covering Import and Export Declarations (TDEC), Electronic Cargo Manifests (EMAN) and more, helping business customers to export and import goods more efficiently.
