Hong Kong, June 12, 2019 – Following Barter Trade, Upcycling Workshop and other activities earlier, C&T organized Beach Cleaning Action on June 2, bringing together colleagues and their family for meaningful green action on Lamma Island.

Under the scorching sun, over twenty C&T volunteers put on their gloves and picked up  plastic bottles, polystyrene boxes and other garbage alongside the Tai Wan To Beach and Hung Shing Yeh Beach. Many small brittle plastic-like objects were also hidden in the sand and the lives of marine creatures can be threatened if they ingest the plastic. All these reiterated the warning from the ocean, which is now suffering from garbage patches everywhere, the largest of which estimated to be 1,446 times the size of Hong Kong.
