Sharing love & care: C&T joins Mid-Autumn charity visit 2017
Hong Kong, September 27, 2017 - The 15th day of the 8th lunar month welcomes the fullest moon and gives the best moment for the joy of reunion, celebration of harvest and thanksgiving. On a Sunday before the arrival of this year’s meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival, C&T organized a team of volunteers to visit the elderly who live alone and share love and care with the mooncakes and little gifts. Over 20 colleagues joined this big annual activity organized by HKMSSAC on September 24.
Formally named Hong Kong Movie Stars Sports Association Charities Ltd, HKMSSAC is a non-profit making organization established in 1993, devoted to improving the living standard of the elderly through a variety of caring activities. This year over 600 volunteers gathered for Mid-Autumn Love Sharing 2017 and visited over 5,000 elderly people living in Shek Kip Mei Estate, a Hong Kong Housing Society estate.
Under the unexpected rain, C&T colleagues prepared mooncakes, biscuits, rice packs, citrus peel and other daily necessities in individual Mid-Autumn Gift Packs in the morning and set off in 5 small teams to visit the elderly’s homes. The little action of care was received with each senior’s thankfulness and smiles.
Mid-Autumn Festival is always the best time to reunite family. Visiting the elderly’s homes and having casual chats about daily, ordinary life not only delivered joy to the elderly, but also encouraged the connection and bonding among colleagues.
